NEW POLL: New Jersey Crypto Voters Could Decide The Election In Gubernatorial Race
March 6, 2025
Washington, D.C.—Today, the Stand With Crypto Alliance (SWC) released new data from an Impact Research survey of SWC advocates that found voters will prioritize the crypto policy positions of candidates in the 2025 New Jersey gubernatorial race. SWC has more than 62,000 advocates in New Jersey who will be a critical voting bloc in the upcoming election.
Among the findings:
- Nearly two-thirds (63%) of survey respondents say they'd be more likely to vote for a pro-crypto candidate in the gubernatorial election, including 70% of voters under 35 and 62% of swing voters.
- One-in-five (17%) say crypto is a dealbreaker issue for them and that they could not vote for a candidate for governor who opposes their views on crypto.
- Seven-in-ten (70%) say they’ll research candidates’ stances on crypto currency policy ahead of the election with three-in-four (76%) saying they’re almost certain to vote in November’s general election.
- Two-in-three members would be more likely to vote for a pro-crypto candidate that supports regulations to protect consumers and prevent fraud, and wants to make New Jersey a leader in the crypto industry.
"With 62,000 Stand With Crypto advocates in NJ, crypto voters will be a force at the ballot box in every upcoming election and this new data on the 2025 New Jersey gubernatorial race is just another proof point that the crypto community is engaged in electoral politics," said Meghan Pennington, spokesperson for Stand With Crypto. "Candidates running for office in New Jersey and across the country should make pro-crypto policy a primary issue in their campaigns or they risk losing critical support in close races."
"Our latest research underscores the strong influence of crypto voters in New Jersey's political landscape," said John Anzalone, partner at Impact Research. "Crypto played a major role in the 2024 general election, and with nearly two-thirds of crypto-aligned voters indicating a preference for pro-crypto candidates, it's primed to be a key factor in 2025 races as well."
